Yes, I know I've done it before and yes, I admit that I stopped because I just can't control my food addiction. So, I tried it again, and now that I lost 10 pounds in 6 days, I can say that it feels good!

It was March, which is graduation season here in the Philippines. During this time, celebrations and blowouts were too much to handle.

Being the food addict that I was, I just couldn't resist the sights and smells of food. Everything was simply yummy, especially the "lechon" or roasted pork. So, I turned my eyes away from my diet and plunged into food extravaganza. How I lost 10 pounds in 6 days? Read on.

My detox tea is in front of me as I am writing this blog, one of the secrets of how I lost 10 pounds in 6 days. 

I am still amazed at how I lost 10 pounds in 6 days. Initially, I had my doubts, being the food addict that I was. I was expecting a violent withdrawal from food, but it never happened. Oh, during the third day of the diet, immediately after the loading period, I felt so weak. I thought that I would faint. I wanted to eat a lot, thinking that my body needs it to be able to regain strength. I still had my summer classes to deal with.

    Newest Team Member – Meet Jenny!

     

    My name is Jenny and I am the newest member of this amazing team. I thought I would tell everyone a little bit about me and my story.

    I am the mother of the most amazing little boy. He is about to turn two in May. I also had a little boy in 1995, when I was 20. It was unfortunate that he was born very premature, at only 26 weeks. He only survived fifteen days. After that I began my battle with Depression.

    When I was fifteen years old I became very ill. After many trips to the doctor and months of testing I was  diagnosed with SLE. Also known as Lupus. My treatment consisted of many different medications. Some of them caused me to gain weight very fast. No matter how I watched what I ate I just kept  gaining.

    When I was about twenty five I became disabled by the Lupus. Since then I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and Fibro Malaysia.  Lupus is a part of  who I am and I have learned how to make the best of it.

    After I had my son life changed and I went from being very active and social to a bit of a homebody. With that being said I have once again gained a lot of weight very fast. Lets put it this way…I  weigh 30 lbs more today than the day I had my son. Now that is not baby weight. Two weeks after I delivered I was wearing a size 5. So that weight has come right off.

    I currently work from home as a Virtual Assistant. So that I can provide a better life for my family and still be available to my son to raise him as I see fit.

    I look forward to sharing more of my story with everyone in the future. I will be starting my diet on the first of May. So look for posts about how that is going in the near future.

    LoriLori's top motivation to lose weight was the fact that she has ACTUALLY lost 8lbs in 10 days!     But to her, the most important thing is "feeling satisfied" with the food that she eats. She can now push her plate away and say no.     Meet Liberty

    Meet LibertyI’m Liberty, the eldest blogger in slimme1.com  (doesn’t count Craig, of course). I am a Filipina, married to a gorgeous and sweet husband, with three wonderful kids, and yes, a grandson!I’m 47 but I never feel my age… not in my heart, although my body tells the truth. Lol! I am fun-loving and carefree. My friends used to call me a free spirit, and in a way, I still am.

    I teach journalism and music in a private elementary school and I love it! Oh, I may not have the paycheck that can make me live my life comfortably (this is the reason why I turned to writing as a second source of income), but the fulfillment that I get from training young pianists and scribes is priceless- unparalleled, unequalled.

    As a child, I was thin and sickly, so I was always absent in school. Left with nothing to do, I read a lot. Literature has always intrigued me. I never tired of reading Reader’s Digest from cover to cover, or our collection of folk and fairy tales, even the Filipino Comics Magazines that were so “in” those days. Maybe that’s when my mind started brewing all the thoughts I have right now.

    As a young adult, I was sexy (yes, I was!) so I never paid attention to my eating habits. My brothers said that I can eat like a horse but  never gained too much weight.  

    My weight gain started after giving birth to our youngest daughter. This was also the time when I had a tubal ligation. No matter how I tried to diet or exercise, the weight would just keep on coming back, with a vengeance. So, I just accepted my fate, and just smiled and said “So what if I’m fat? I’m pretty, anyway!”

    What I overlooked was the fact that middle age and obesity don’t exactly agree with each other. It topples a person’s balance and stability- physical, social and emotional. Oh, I'm still a fun-loving person, but during my quiet time, things are different.

    I sometimes experience an acute pain in my chest. I also have a circulatory disorder, a knee problem, and on certain occassions, breathing becomes difficult for me.These are the things that bother me in my solitude. These are the things that I write about in slimme1- with the hope that I can overcome it, and at the same time help people to learn more from my writing.

    Yes, my heart goes into everything I write for slimme1 because I am also obese. I too have felt the pain of being teased, of being frustrated over useless fad diets. I have hated myself for eating too much when I know I shouldn’t. I have envied my friends who still look glamorous and sexy even in middle age.

    I felt helpless every time the hubby or the kids had to pull me out of bed just to get up. I felt sorry for myself when I go into a store and find that nothing fits me. I felt desperate when I wanted to slim down but can’t get off the food addiction.

    But I guess, life is good to me. Now I have the chance to turn my life around. I also want to be like Amy Ryan, LoriLori and all the other successful YP10 dieters who made it.
